You lost your fight, this time last year.
We miss you so, have shed many a tear.
To be brave like you, we really must try,
That’s what we pledged, when we said goodbye.
Mum’s set up a website, to honour your name.
We really think you’d like the fame.
You would be so proud of what’s being done,
Oli’s gaming challenge, Mum’s 10k run.
A “TeamJess” anthem and a new ringtone,
A constant reminder, when we hear the phone.
Grandad Brian’s swim in the lake,
What a feat to undertake!
Grandad Barry, with computers to mend,
Raising money for us to send
To help other poorly children too.
All sent in memory of you.
Your friends selling crayons, to raise extra cash.
Doing sponsored swims, running the Leeds “Abbey Dash”.
A charity auction is next on the way,
Hoping to get more people to pay.
Your story has been shared, far and wide.
Magazines and websites: you cannot hide.
We’ll think of ideas to increase the amount,
Over £19000 so far; what a lot to count!
So Sweetheart, we’ll do our best,
To never let your memory rest.
We love you so much, it’s fair to say.
We think about you every day.
